House – Maison Baril
The Baril house is located on Range 3 in Notre-Dame-du-Nord. Its construction dates back to the period following the great fire of 1922. It is of Quebecois style with one and a half storeys. The house is built on a stone foundation, and its walls are covered with cedar shingles, a method frequently used in our region in the early 20th century.
This house is one of the last in our region that has retained its original cladding.

This style of wooden house covered with cedar shingles and with a stone foundation was called “colonization house.”
